Oleander Smile: The Longest Published English Poem In the World
Oleander Smile is the longest english poem in the world to be published. At 40,040 lines in length, the poem is a colossal tome! No other published english poem in the world since the year 1000 A.D. comes close to its size! There is no modern english poem in the world today that even comes close to the length of the colossal english poem, Oleander Smile.
The gigantic english poem confronts the topic of the ambivalence of adult human nature: so complex, and so unfair, since even if you may be right with all the evidence, you end up still being wrong! You may identify with this scenario in your own personal experiences. But despite the ambivalence of adult human nature, embrace your instincts and gut feeling in doing the ‘right thing’ whatever it may be. And most of all, it is alright to have the child-like attitude of not giving up, stand up whenever you fall, and persevere with a positive outlook. Why? Because adults easily get too pessimistic and brooding when a problem is overwhelming. Not children: they learn to move on and learn from the problem, not linger and brood over it. Once adults achieve embracing their gut feeling and the child-like attitude of being positive and learn from adversity, then that adult can smile like the oleander flower blooming in the garden of bliss.
Published by LuLu (www.LuLu.com), Oleander Smile does not fit into the standard traditional genre of english poetry. The poem is more like Language Poetry with a stream-of-consciousness feel and mood. Oleander Smile will become truly a timeless masterpiece in english literature!

Excellent! ‘Oleander Smile’ is a must-read book. Unique, fresh, creative, and original. An alternative realm into the truth and reality of adult human nature. Duane Romana’s ‘Oleander Smile’ in the 21st century reminds me of the 20th century’s James Joyce with his ‘Finnegan’s Wake’ and ‘Ulysses’, two ‘poetic, free-verse novels.

‘Oleander Smile’ is one large poem! I read the free book sample from the LuLu.com website, and I was impressed with the poetry and amazed at the huge size of the text! A magnum opus indeed for the 21st century!
