Jake Paul’s next boxing match will face one of the greatest MMA boxers of all time, Anderson Silva, and will take place on October 29, according to two sources of Insider. American YouTuber KeemStar was the first to report the rumor on Monday.
Insider confirmed the tweet of the 40 -year -old player with people close to the match, they said they could not speak officially because the match has not been announced.
KeemStar announced the fight will be confirmed by the organizers shortly. Silva is considered by many to be one of the best fighters in the UFC.
As the middleweight champion of the promotion in Las Vegas, he holds the record for longest title reign in UFC history at 2,457 days.He defeats Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort, Yushin Okami, Forrest Griffin and Dan Henderson.
Anderson Silva will be the toughest test of Jake Paul’s budding fighting career
Though he finished his UFC tenure with a losing run, Silva reinvigorated his combat sports career with a widely successful foray into boxing, with victories over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Tito Ortiz.
Considering the striking abilities he displayed through his decades in MMA, and his experience in boxing, he is — by quite some distance — the biggest threat Jake Paul will have faced, should the creator fight the Brazilian in the coming months. But as previously reported by Insider, tough tests are what Paul appears to be seeking out at this stage in his career.
Paul has reached a major milestone in his boxing career so far
In his sixth professional bout, Paul attempted to take on British TV personality, rookie boxer Tommy Fury, and upstart heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr. on the visa issue. Meanwhile, the match against Rahman did not take place due to Rahman’s weight problem.
It is not yet known at what weight the potential Paul vs. Silva match will be, but it will likely be at 190 pounds.
If announced as soon as KeemStar expects it, the fight will add another healthy offering from the Showtime premium network, as it could happen before a November pay-per-view related to elite heavyweights Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr.
Crawford vs. Spence could determine the No. 1 boxer
Although the £147 scheme has yet to be announced, an Insider source with knowledge of the situation said earlier this year that November was the month likely for a fight. A second source recently told us that expectations remain high for the war to continue that month. The winner of the match between Crawford vs. Spence – the biggest boxing match possible in 2022 – could define the sport’s #1 boxer.
